Consultation

Ayurveda uses herbs, diet, lifestyle, massage, yoga, meditation and detoxification therapies to treat illness and enhance well-being. Ayurvedic medicine recognises the person, not the symptoms and so tailors its treatment approaches to suit the needs of the individual’s unique mind body constitution. The aim of Ayurveda is to restore balance if illness is there, to maintain balance where there is health. Sankalpa offers consultations for anyone wishing to affirm their health - nutritional and lifestyle counselling and for anyone who would like to address a health issue - Ayurvedic consultation.

Nutrition and lifestyle consultation

Nutrition and lifestyle consultationAyurveda views health as the equilibrium and optimum functioning of the physiological processes of the mind and body and a healthy individual as someone who is emotionally, socially, mentally and physically balanced and happy. Knowing ourselves and living according to our nature are essential elements of health maintenance.  A nutritional and lifestyle consultation offers tools to make informed choices to promote health and vitality.

Before the consultation you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire.  A nutrition and lifestyle plan will consist of:

  • Prakruti analysis – you will be given an explanation of your prakruti and how this affects your diet and lifestyle.
  •  Dietary advice on which foods to avoid and which to incorporate in your diet to maintain balance.
  • A diet plan tailored to your prakruti focusing on any problem areas in your diet.
  • A daily routine with advice on exercise for your prakruti and relaxation techniques to optimise health and vitality.
